About Me
During the last 20 years, I have traveled extensively around Latin America, the Caribbean, USA and Europe. This coupled with moving several times during the period, it has helped me appreciate the richness of different cultures and how artistic expressions reflect them.
During the year I spent in Puerto Rico, I found my love for the unique sand’s colors and textures from beaches of Culebra, Vieques, Palomino and Condado. Since then I have collected sand from around the world; now reaching over 250, including sand from beaches, lakes and deserts from every continent.
The collection inspired me to paint using the sand as medium, while also leveraging the uniqueness that each sand could provide. I taught myself how to use the sand’s natural colors, adding textures and highlights in a very unique way of painting with sand. After some time of trial and error, I developed my own style and technique.
I have always felt a special connection with the arts and crafts of native cultures. So, in my paintings I want people to find that passion and love for different cultures and nature. I believe sand is the perfect medium to show this connection.
Hope you enjoy my collection and paintings!
