Caracas – Vieques
Isla de Vieques, is an island–municipality of Puerto Rico in the northeastern Caribbean. Vieques lies about 8 miles (13 km) east of the Puerto Rican mainland. Vieques is probably most well known for its beaches, many of which have beautiful white sand. Also known as Red Beach, Playa Caracas is one of the first stretches of sand when heading east of Esperanza on Route 997. This beach is well-maintained and boasts covered cabañas. Less rustic than some of the nearby beaches, this spot is sheltered from waves, so the waters are calm. Playa Caracas shows off waters with varying turquoise hues and white soft coral sand.
